Job Title: Warehouse Operations Project Lead - Somerset NJ

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Project Lead to lead the successful rollout of our new Warehouse Management System (WMS) in our 3PL warehouse located in Somerset NJ. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably with WMS or other logistics software implementations in a warehouse or 3PL environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop a comprehensive project plan, timeline, and milestones for the WMS implementation, ensuring alignment with warehouse and company goals. Coordinate with internal teams, software vendors, and third-party consultants to ensure a smooth rollout process.
  • System Testing and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with the WMS vendor and internal IT teams to set up testing environments. Conduct rigorous testing of the WMS, including integration with other systems, user functionality, and data accuracy. Document and address any issues, bugs, or gaps in system functionality, working with the vendor or IT team to resolve them efficiently.
  • Staff Training and Support: Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to educate staff on the WMS, including functionality, workflows, and best practices. Conduct hands-on training sessions, creating and distributing user manuals, guides, and other training resources. Provide ongoing support to employees during the transition period, addressing questions and assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure a smooth transition from the old system to the new WMS. Communicate project goals, changes in workflows, and benefits of the new WMS to all staff, helping them understand and adapt to the new system. Gather feedback from staff and stakeholders to identify any pain points or areas for improvement during the implementation.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Establish performance metrics and monitor the WMS's impact on warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Regularly report on project progress, budget status, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to upper management. Analyze WMS performance post-launch to identify opportunities for further optimization or improvement.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all project documentation is maintained, including test results, project updates, training materials, and post-launch analysis. Work closely with compliance teams to ensure the WMS meets all regulatory and operational standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in project management, ideally with WMS or other logistics software implementations in a warehouse or 3PL environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, or a related field. PMP certification or similar is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with WMS platforms, knowledge of warehouse operations, and experience in testing, troubleshooting, and training on new systems.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Communication and Training Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience creating and delivering training to diverse teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to proactively identify project risks, troubleshoot software and operational issues, and implement effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with popular WMS platforms and their integrations with other systems (e.g., ERP, TMS).
  • Knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations and processes.
  • Previous experience in change management and training staff on new technology.
