Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Brethren Retirement Community. As a Nursing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care on our assigned unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the nursing care and services provided to residents of an assigned unit.
  • Ensure the maintenance of high-quality resident care by giving medications and treatments as ordered, assessing effectiveness, and making regular rounds to assess and evaluate conditions and needs.
  • Assign, direct, and supervise Nursing Assistants in giving resident care utilizing the plan of care.
  • Direct and supervise Nursing Assistants in delivery and documentation of Restorative Nursing Programs.
  • Deliver and document Restorative Nursing Programs that fall within the practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Arrange for adequate supplies and properly functioning equipment.
  • Maintain established policies and procedures, standards of practice, and productivity, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control and other regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the regularly-scheduled Care Conference. Document timely and accurately on the resident clinical record.
  • Identify resident problems and needs, set goals, interventions, and write on plan of care.
  • Complete or assist with activities left from previous shift.
  • Accompany physician on rounds.
  • Notify physicians, family members, and Care Team members of changes in resident's condition.
  • Investigate and resolve resident and/or family complaints and referring abuse or neglect issues to Director of Nursing or Administrator immediately.
  • Call physicians, handle referrals to consultants.
  • Encourage rehab/restorative programs to improve resident functioning.
Requirements
  • Licensed in State of Ohio as Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental documents.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality resident care. The noise level is usually moderate, and the employee is frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens. The employee occasionally exposed to combative residents.
