Job Summary
SpaceX is seeking a skilled Propulsion Technician to join our team in developing the most advanced spacecraft and launch vehicle components in the world. As a Propulsion Technician, you will be responsible for building and testing valves, regulators, and actuators for our Falcon rocket, ensuring maximum reliability in extreme environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and test valves, regulators, and actuators
- Use precision tools to measure and verify parts tolerances
- Collaborate and cooperate with team members to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets
- Maintain a professional and neat work area
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
- Record daily work completion accurately to report to the lead technician
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, maintenance, material handling, and/or installation OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of basic hand tools, calibrated equipment such as torque wrenches, dial calipers, multimeters
- Experience in automotive, power sports, diesel/industrial technologies, aerospace, or similar industry
- Ability to read digital/analog tooling (e.g. torque wrench, pressure gauges, and calipers)
- Strong technical aptitude/ability to problem solve and corroborate ideas to deal with day-to-day challenges
- Ability to learn how things work and why they need to perform as intended, and follow safety procedures
- Basic computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
Additional Requirements
- Able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
Compensation and Benefits
Pay range: Propulsion Technician/Level 1: $22.00 - $27.00/hour Propulsion Technician/Level 2: $25.00 - $32.50/hour Propulsion Technician/Level 3: $30.00 - $38.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation & will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
