About the Opportunity

Vail Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patrol and Monitor Facilities: Conduct regular patrols of our facilities to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  2. Respond to Emergencies: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including alarms, emergency codes, and requests for assistance.
  3. Document Security Incidents: Accurately document all security-related incidents, including patrols, investigations, and response activities.
  4. Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with patients, staff, visitors, and external agencies to conduct education, investigation, and de-escalation activities.
  5. Enforce Parking Regulations: Monitor and enforce parking regulations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  6. Conduct Patient Watches: Conduct patient watches for mental health, substance abuse, or at-risk patients in coordination with clinical departments.
  7. Provide Confidential Support: Provide confidential support and assistance to all VH visitors, patients, staff, and external agencies.
  8. Maintain Physical Security: Maintain the physical security of VH through access control software, security alarms, key control, and other physical and electronic controls.
  9. Participate in Patient Management: Participate in the management of patients' behavior, including the application of restraints, observation, and physical management to assist clinicians.
  10. Model Organizational Values: Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  11. Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, including HIPAA compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience: Two years of previous security-related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • License(s): Current valid driver's license and ability to pass Vail Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria.
  • Certification(s): Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Computer/Typing: Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Language: Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
