This role requires presence during adverse weather conditions or emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, along with one year of relevant experience in technology; or a comparable mix of education and experience. All degrees must be from accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from a two-year college and one year of relevant experience in technology. Four years of experience in training or health informatics, or a suitable combination of education and experience. Familiarity with Medicat and experience in a healthcare environment are advantageous. Knowledge of university systems is also preferred.
Position Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to deliver technical and analytical support in the development, design, and maintenance of applications for clinical, pharmacy, and administrative functions. This position will also play a key role in the training and implementation of the Medicat Medical management system.
Organizational Mission
The mission of the student health center is to provide comprehensive health care services to students, ensuring adherence to recommended standards based on current medical and health-related information. Our aim is to support the educational programs of North Carolina A&T State University by minimizing health-related disruptions to academic achievement and promoting healthy lifestyles among students.
Work Schedule
Standard hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
Manage and oversee clinical computer usage, ensuring proper maintenance and repair of technology within the health center. Conduct bi-annual technology inventories and assist in inventory management.
Project Management
Lead and guide electronic health record projects, ensuring compliance with internal performance standards and external contract requirements. Collaborate effectively with central IT.
Technical Solution Development
Assess user needs, analyze process options, and propose solutions. Plan and implement system enhancements, including new modules and functionalities, in collaboration with vendors and users. Facilitate user adaptation to changes in the computing environment and perform software version upgrades.
Technical Support
Provide troubleshooting, training, and problem-solving for various software systems utilized by the health center. Install and modify software and hardware, conducting routine diagnostics and configurations as per standard operating procedures.
Consultancy Skills
Deliver comprehensive training to new and existing staff on technology operations. Develop innovative solutions and evaluation instruments, and assist clinical teams with the implementation of electronic health records.
Technical Knowledge
Utilize extensive knowledge of medical record and informatics principles. Analyze operational performance to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance with electronic health records and HIPAA guidelines.
