Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/LPN to join our Cardiology team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering pertinent health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures, such as pelvic exams and allergy scratch testing.
  • Administer routine medications under physician orders or medical group-approved standing orders.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
Requirements
  • LPN: Active license issued by the state in which you practice, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Assistant: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Education: LPN - Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing. Medical Assistant - GED or HS Equivalency Diploma, and completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant.
