Job Description

Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineering Consultant to join our Resilience Team in either Hanover, Maryland or Arlington, Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of solid waste related engineering and business advisory service offerings within the municipal sector market of the DC Metro area and surrounding region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solid waste management consulting engineering and a proven track record of success in business development, proposal writing, and project delivery. They will be responsible for collaborating with other Arcadis regional stakeholders to develop area business plans, identifying opportunities, and leading individual contract/project pursuits to win.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams on the development of significant solid waste management related opportunities and projects, as well as providing senior technical advisor and/or quality assurance management in support of project pursuit and delivery.

We offer a flexible hybrid work culture with balance between remote and in-office work. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $185,000/year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of solid waste related engineering and business advisory service offerings
  • Collaborate with other Arcadis regional stakeholders to develop area business plans
  • Identify opportunities and lead individual contract/project pursuits to win
  • Provide technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams
  • Provide senior technical advisor and/or quality assurance management in support of project pursuit and delivery
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field of study
  • 15 years of solid waste management consulting engineering experience
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professional attitude/demeanor and objectivity while navigating complex situations with multiple internal/external stakeholders and conflicting needs and priorities
