Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Director, Patient Care- Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatric to oversee the 16-bed geriatric psychiatric care unit at Good Samaritan Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inpatient behavioral health and experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the quality of patient care using TQM principles and tools
  • Monitor and report trends in patient population/acuity and manage human resources accordingly
  • Design, implement, and evaluate innovative systems that support efficient delivery of patient care
  • Develop and adhere to approved budget
  • Assess staff competence and educational needs in relation to changing patient needs

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and professional practice issues and processes
  • BLS/ACLS Certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
  • Required Master degree in Human Services related field with behavioral health experience preferred
  • Adheres to DMH, DPH, TJC licensing and operational standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and work collaboratively among the multidisciplinary team
