Job Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Geriatric Psychiatric unit assumes full responsibility for the quality of nursing care provided to individuals and groups. This includes health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning, and restoration of optimal functioning and comfort or dignified death of those served.

Responsibilities

* Provide care that addresses the specific needs of a geriatric psychiatric patient population and individualized to various special needs, such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, and potential victims of abuse.
* Incorporate knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, mission, vision, and values into nursing practice.
* Supervise RNs and ancillary staff, providing guidance and direction for the accomplishment of nursing tasks and activities.

Requirements

* Adult geri-psychiatric experience preferred
* Graduate of an approved school of nursing
* Valid Massachusetts RN license and current BLS certification
