  • Strategic Direction: Set the strategy and direction of the architectural roadmap for U.S. Bank.
  • Technical Leadership: Work across the organization to foster a culture of architecture that allows for iterative, autonomous development and future scaling. Guide teams in the organization in anticipation of future use cases and help them make design decisions that minimize the cost of future changes.
  • Engineering Strategy: Establish engineering strategic objectives that drive architecture and technical approach.
  • Incident Response: Lead incident response across the engineering organization as needed. Use systematic debugging to diagnose issues across the organization.
  • Code Reviews: Drive and set the culture of quality and timely code reviews across the organization while encouraging teams to consider release complications.
  • Testing Strategy: Drive the organizational testing strategy and use quality metrics to identify gaps.
  • Security: Actively work with the security team to set and refine organization-wide security strategy. Foster a security-first mindset across the organization.
  • Decision Making: Take ownership of decisions made in the engineering organization by helping teams make clear decisions in alignment with enterprise goals, backing decisions made, and taking responsibility for their success.
  • Delivery Process: Set the direction of the delivery process across the organization, on the importance and purpose of the methodology, has a clear point of view and guides the organization on improvements to the delivery process.
  • Priority Setting: Work across the organization to foster a culture of priority setting and urgency in alignment with organizational strategy.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Skills: Thorough understanding of several team's domains and how they contribute to the overall business strategy and alignment to the technical strategy. Expertise in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices in an agile environment.
  • Leadership: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Proven collaboration and influencing skills.
