Automotive Repair Specialist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Repair Specialist II to join our team at CarMax. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles in accordance with our high standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute CarMax Standardized work processes to ensure quality and efficiency
- Diagnose and repair complex engine and drivetrain issues
- Perform electrical systems repairs and maintenance
- Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet CarMax quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S standards
- Interact with customers in a friendly and service-oriented manner
- Consult with customers on needed repairs and provide recommendations
- Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
- Close and invoice repair orders
- Explain repairs and services to customers to ensure understanding
- Collect payments and manage cash transactions
- Locate and receive shipments of parts
- Receive and inventory parts
- Maintain accurate records and control service supplies
- Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data
- ASE certifications in relevant areas (where required by state or local law)
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
