Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled LPN to join our team as a Medication Authorization Specialist in Greenlawn, Long Island. This is a full-time day position with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in rendering patient care by performing routine nursing tasks, including maintaining examining rooms, cleaning medical instruments, and administering immunizations and injections.
  • Ensure proper flow of patients into exam rooms by periodically checking with secretarial or Central Registration staff and surveying waiting rooms.
  • Notify physicians or Office Manager of problems, delays, or irregularities in the schedule.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, including answering inquiries made by patients and/or other callers.
  • Document appropriately in the medical record and complete forms requiring pertinent medical data.
  • Maintain medical records according to established policy and procedure.
Requirements
  • Current New York state nursing license.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • Active BLS card from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to read and write and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Knowledge of basic biology, anatomy, and physiology, typing, and medical terminology.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other practice personnel.
