Job Title: Associate Distribution Engineer

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services group, you will be responsible for designing and developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.
  • Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop a BOM, estimate costs, and customer advocacy such as acquiring easements.
  • Travel to various project locations to conduct field investigations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE or ME preferred) or Master's degree in a related field.
  • 0-2+ years of prior relevant experience in design engineering, preferably with an electric utility or consulting company.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience using CAD tools, such as Microstation.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
  • Fundamentals of Engineer Certifications.
