About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Distribution Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services group, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative solutions to our utility clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems using various software systems and construction standards.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.
  • Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop a Bill of Materials (BOM), estimate costs, and provide customer advocacy.
  • Travel to project locations to conduct field investigations and work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE or ME preferred) or Master's degree in a related field.
  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience in design engineering, preferably with an electric utility or consulting company.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and other relevant software systems.
