Position Overview:

This role is with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. This is an on-site position, with preference for candidates in the Cleveland/Akron area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategic Direction: Provide guidance and strategic oversight for the Distribution Design and Reliability teams within the Utility Operations Engineering Services.
  • Goal Setting: Establish and monitor organizational objectives, policies, and budgets while managing resources effectively.
  • Engineering Support: Oversee engineering support for distribution functions, ensuring customer requests for new services and reliability are met.
  • Performance Accountability: Drive continuous improvement and maintain high safety standards across operations.
  • Financial Management: Review budget performance and make informed financial decisions to support organizational goals.
  • Communication: Foster open dialogue across teams and support the strategic direction of the company.
  • Employee Development: Develop team skills, support performance management, and encourage innovative thinking.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical utility systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
