As a Retail Operations Supervisor Trainee, you will play a pivotal role in managing store operations and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret financial reports, including profit and loss statements.
- Deliver an outstanding sales experience for both DIY and professional customers.
- Meet personal and store sales targets while maintaining service excellence.
- Oversee DIY services such as battery installations and wiper blade replacements.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by promptly addressing any product or operational issues.
- Assume manager-on-duty responsibilities, including coaching, task management, and safety protocols.
- Participate in the weekly scheduling process to optimize team performance.
Success Factors:
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to locate and stock automotive parts efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and automotive systems.
- ASE P2 certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Capability to train and implement advanced solutions and quality recommendations.
- Proficient in executing store operational processes and using diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with inventory management systems and point-of-sale technology.
Essential Skills for Success:
- Working knowledge of automotive systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform calculations related to discounts, sales increases, and gross profit.
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing business performance reports.
- Capable of providing constructive feedback and holding team members accountable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced retail environment.
- Demonstrated success in managing profitability and financial performance.
Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required; a bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
Certifications:
ASE certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as well as the capability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision.
Work Environment:
Employees will primarily work indoors but may occasionally be exposed to outdoor conditions while performing tasks such as installations. The work environment may include exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
