The Specialty Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmacy services to outpatients and visitors at the Medical University Hospital and Clinics. This role involves collaborating with nursing and medical staff to address inquiries regarding medication management and usage.
Key Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications, adhering to medical guidelines.
- Engage in patient management and quality improvement initiatives within the Specialty Pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities
The Clinical Pharmacist is dedicated to optimizing patient health outcomes through pharmaceutical care. This includes:
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery systems.
- Responding to patient inquiries regarding medication dosages and instructions.
- Maintaining comprehensive pharmacy records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy degree with completion of a pharmacy residency program. Two years of clinical or hospital pharmacy experience may be considered in lieu of residency.
Licensure: Must be eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
