We are seeking a highly skilled Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team at Bowie State University. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for attracting and hiring top talent to support the university's mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates for open positions.
• Conduct life-cycle recruitment, including position advertisement, applicant screening, and communication with supervisors.
• Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline.
• Provide guidance and training to supervisors on employment matters, including salary administration and employment forms.
• Ensure up-to-date job descriptions for all new hires and assist supervisors with completion as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors about the status of advertised positions and provide expected plans for completion.
• Maintain records of recruitment materials, including interview notes and related paperwork.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in human resources, including one year of recruiting experience required.
• Knowledge of employee recruitment and employment processes and procedures.
• Skilled in using computers and software, including Windows/Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and HRIS database software.
Preferred Qualifications:
• PHR or other Human Resources certification desired.
• Familiarity with social media and professional networks preferred.
