**This position is an IAMAW unionized role. Selected candidates will be eligible for pension and fully covered company-sponsored benefits.**

SHIFT: Saturday and Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, plus one 8-hour shift during the week.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves executing specialized cleaning tasks alongside routine cleaning responsibilities in line with established procedures and contractual requirements. The employee will utilize various cleaning equipment, including automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and other essential tools, chemicals, and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General Clean-up:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning of all designated areas within the facility as instructed.
  • Ensure that rooms are well-maintained and fully stocked.
  • Sanitize offices, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchenettes, and communal spaces.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
  • Service, clean, and replenish restroom supplies.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling, which may involve transporting waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Perform interior windowpane and glass surface cleaning within safe reach limits during scheduled maintenance.
  • Polish metal fixtures and fittings.
  • Execute non-routine cleaning tasks as per specific job orders, respond to urgent cleaning requests, and manage intensive cleaning projects as needed.
  • Maintain and care for all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.
  • Report any necessary repairs or replacements encountered during cleaning duties.
  • Properly mix and dispose of cleaning solutions.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure safe and sanitary storage and handling of cleaning products.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
Floors:
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and/or vacuum flooring surfaces.
  • Conduct spot cleaning of carpets.
  • Steam-clean or shampoo carpets as necessary or per contract specifications.
  • Utilize powered scrubbing and polishing machines to maintain floor surfaces after receiving appropriate training.
  • Follow guidelines for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Employ chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer after proper training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bathrooms:
  • Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, baths, showers, and drinking fountains, ensuring surfaces are wiped down.
  • Restock consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Empty trash and sanitary receptacles.
  • Dust ventilation fans.
  • Clean plumbing fixtures.
  • Mop and scrub bathroom floors.
  • Maintain grout cleanliness as needed.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements

Ability to operate heavy janitorial equipment and tools.

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, including proper storage and disposal methods, as well as effective cleaning techniques.

Ability to follow verbal instructions and schedules.

Capable of working independently or collaboratively with a partner or team.

Reliable and punctual, demonstrating professionalism in all job duties.

Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines.

Excellent time management skills.

Detail-oriented approach to cleaning tasks.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent.

LANGUAGE

English preferred and/or Spanish.
