Job Summary:

Hood Industries is seeking a highly skilled Training and Development Specialist to join our team in the People Operations and Culture department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training and development, with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and facilitation of training initiatives across the organization.
  • Conduct gap analysis to determine training deficiencies and recommended pathways to improvement.
  • Create relevant surveys and measurement systems to evaluate the effectiveness of training and identify ways to enhance efficiency and adaptability within the organization.
  • Utilize assessment tools to create coaching and development reports for high-potential employees, working with business unit leaders to prepare them for next-step opportunities.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to determine training requirements and performance gaps.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to create unique training programs to fulfill workers' specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Create and/or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
  • Present training and development programs using various forms and formats, including group discussion, lecture, simulation, and videos.
  • Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
  • Assess training materials prepared by instructors.
  • Ensure training content is aligned with organizational goals, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in training and development.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping employee information confidential.
  • Prepare and implement training budget; maintain records and reports of expenses.
  • Perform diversified administrative activities in support of People Operations initiatives and duties.

Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 2 years of experience in Training preferred.
  • SHRM certification preferred.
