Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner: College Student Health Center
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Student Health Center. As a primary care provider, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services and educational programs to our students. You will work closely with the Director of Student Health Center to oversee operations and develop policies and procedures that align with current standards and best practices for US college health centers.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide primary care services to students, including medication management, STD testing, referral and specialty care, and pharmacy services.
- Support the Director in the provision of primary care services and participate in the emergency response system, which may require some after-hours and weekend work.
- Maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff within MICA.
- Stay up-to-date with professional organizations and contribute to the field through presentations at national and regional conferences and/or research scholarship.
- Perform administrative functions, including preparing operational reports and analyses, and identifying trends and student needs.
- Review and update health center educational materials and establish long and short-range departmental goals and objectives.
- Work closely with the Director of Student Counseling and the Health Promotion Educator to provide coordinated efforts in areas related to mental health, physical health, and wellness.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Active Maryland Physician Assistant License with CDS and DEA (for Physician Assistant) or Maryland RN and Family or Adult CRNP licensure with Prescriptive Authority (for Nurse Practitioner) is required.
- National certification as a Family or Adult CRNP is required.
- Knowledge of developmental issues central to adolescents/young adults.
- Proficiency in the use of an Electronic Medical Record system.
- Current Maryland CDS and DEA registration.
- Experience working in a college health center.
- Significant experience as a nurse practitioner in a related field in an outpatient setting.
- Strong time management skills, including organization, prioritization, and multitasking.
- Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent dynamic communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.

As necessary, the employee will be required to wear a face mask during work hours and may don and doff additional personal protective equipment as needed.
