Container Pros, LLC is seeking a Field Service Mechanic to enhance our service operations. This role involves providing comprehensive repair and maintenance services for compactors and related equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to various client locations to perform service, warranty repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
Compensation: Starting pay is competitive and commensurate with experience, particularly for those with a background in trash compactor systems.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble and secure components according to technical specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with PLC controls.
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch regarding service-related matters.
- Interpret hydraulic schematics and evaluate pressure systems.
- Ensure optimal functionality of compactors by addressing operator concerns, conducting inspections, and performing necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records for all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Ensure shop equipment is operational by adhering to maintenance protocols and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Enhance technical knowledge through ongoing education and review of industry publications.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, and climbing as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain a safe working environment.
- Mentor and guide new service technicians during their onboarding process.
The following qualifications are essential for this position:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Welding skills are required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in diesel trucks or heavy construction machinery.
- Professional communication skills with clients and team members.
- Experience with commercial trash compactors and balers is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods.
- Availability for after-hours, night, and weekend work as needed.
