Position Overview
The Director of Patient Care Operations oversees the clinical management of multiple health facilities throughout Michigan.
This role demands dedicated leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and patient-focused care in collaboration with health center teams, including managers, clinicians, and various staff members.
This leader will exemplify a strong commitment to racial equity, reflected in all interactions with colleagues, external partners, and during staff supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership
Demonstrates a commitment to racial equity.
Stays informed about Planned Parenthood of Michigan's initiatives towards enhanced racial equity standards, holding themselves and their team accountable.
Manages and mentors a diverse team, fostering an organizational culture that promotes inclusivity and equity.Provides guidance and development to health center managers to meet monthly and annual objectives, ensuring exemplary levels of staff and patient engagement.
Offers support in financial management and budgeting for assigned health centers.Facilitates ongoing collaboration with community partners and other healthcare providers to promote PPMI as a vital community resource and establish referral networks.
Actively participates as a member of PPMI's Leadership Team.Leads team members through a performance support process that includes goal setting, routine feedback, and continuous development.
Empowers staff to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
Provides regular developmental feedback to the team, emphasizing practices related to equity.
Collaborates with the communications team to identify priorities for external communications that support patient care marketing and outreach goals.
Represents PPMI at meetings, community events, conferences, and fundraising activities as appropriate.
Continuously pursues professional growth by attending relevant conferences and seminars.
Operations
Monitors and is accountable for performance outcomes of assigned health centers, including financial metrics, employee and patient satisfaction, and productivity.
Leads and manages health center expansion, enhancement, relocation, and development initiatives.Works with Business Operations to create, implement, and facilitate processes and policies for billing and collecting services covered by third parties.
Ensures compliance with all Planned Parenthood and regulatory policies, practices, procedures, and standards in health center operations through collaboration with the Director of Quality, Risk & Compliance.
Plans and supervises activities necessary for achieving accreditation and required licensure.Coordinates with clinical leadership to identify, develop, and implement clinical workflows, policies, and procedures that maintain high-quality patient care.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of all Planned Parenthood Policies and Procedures regarding health center management and clinical operations. Regularly reviews new and existing policies with health center staff.Interprets and applies policies while identifying and recommending changes as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Collaborates with health center managers and clinicians to assess staff training needs and coordinates appropriate training with the support of Learning/Development.

Qualifications and Experience
Required
Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
Proven ability to achieve objectives in collaboration with other functional areas.
Demonstrated commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission, vision, and values.
