Education Coordinator for Youth Development

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Education Coordinator to join our team at Catholic Charities of Los Angeles. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of youth and adults through job training, education, and career services.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments of participants, instructing students in remedial and basic skills learning, and assigning text and program materials. They will also conduct pre- and post-testing of clients to evaluate the effectiveness of educational services and competency of clients.
In addition, the Education Coordinator will provide supervision to volunteer and client tutors, assist with post-program follow-up and progress of clients, and develop and implement individualized study plans for remediation. They will also interpret assessments and participant's Individual Service Strategy (ISS) to determine appropriate materials for individual education plans.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessments of participants using the CASAS Employability Competency system.
- Instruct students in remedial and basic skills learning.
- Assign text and program materials.
- Conduct pre- and post-testing of clients.
- Provide supervision to volunteer and client tutors.
- Assist with post-program follow-up and progress of clients.
- Develop and implement individualized study plans for remediation.
- Interpret assessments and participant's ISS.
- Prescribe lessons following agency Comprehensive Acquisition Plans (CAP).
- Conduct instruction in individual and group settings.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis and/or training in secondary education, adult basic education, English, mathematics, remediation, literacy, ESL, or reading. They must also have one to three years of experience teaching or tutoring specialized services. Additionally, they must pass the CBEST within six months of hire and have a current California Driver's License. Bilingual, English-Spanish proficiency is preferred.
