The Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs is a leading state agency dedicated to serving and honoring veterans through leadership, advocacy, and strong partnerships. We are currently seeking an experienced Administrative Specialist 2 to join our team in Salem, Oregon.

About the Role

This permanent full-time position provides administrative support to the Facilities section of ODVA, working closely with the Facility and Construction Project Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Agency Director. The successful candidate will provide clarification and guidance on rules, laws, and procedures governing various programs, including the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the Governor mandate report on the COOP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Update the COOP as new laws, policies, and programs are implemented.
  • Perform and coordinate administrative tasks in support of ODVA Facility Services operations, ensuring smooth services and operations.
  • Track, schedule, and deliver services, including receiving and managing incoming supplies and equipment.
  • Enter information into the State Financial Management System (SFMS) and maintain periodic/annual inventory of fixed assets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Three years of secretarial or administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An associate degree in general office occupations and two years of secretarial or administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, work in a team environment, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite, and ability to collect and analyze information.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $3,948 - $5,483, medical, vision, and dental benefits, paid sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and ten paid holidays per year. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible candidates.
