Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Accounts Representative II to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation, submission, and follow-up of claims to third-party carriers, intermediaries, and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit claims to third-party carriers and intermediaries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure prompt payment and resolution of any issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle team to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and guidelines related to healthcare billing and reimbursement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in patient accounting, including 1 year of electronic billing systems experience.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital billing practices, healthcare payors, and electronic remittance processing.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with medical posting, billing, and/or patient account service and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
