Job Summary

At SEC Energy, we are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and installing skid-mounted components, performing pneumatic and mechanical tests, and operating a variety of tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install skid-mounted components, including pumps, vessels, pipe, pipe supports, structural supports, belts, pulleys, and machine guards.
  • Perform pneumatic and mechanical tests on assembled components.
  • Operate a variety of portable hand, electric, and air-powered tools, including impact wrenches, torque wrenches, combination wrenches, sockets, ratchets, band saws, and grinders.
  • Operate stationary tools, such as bench grinders, iron workers, drill presses, and chop saws.
  • Operate lifting equipment, including overhead cranes and jib cranes.
  • Record serial numbers and other information as required in the ITP (inspection test plan).
  • Report problems to the line supervisor and actively participate in resolution.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
  • Report potentially unsafe equipment and safety hazards to the supervisor for immediate resolution.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
  • Actively participate in the development of Assembler I and other employees.
Requirements
  • Level C requires a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level B requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Level A/Lead requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience.
Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16".
  • Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals, and whole numbers.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.
Working Conditions

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Walking and standing frequently.
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting.
  • Works in industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
