Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Unit Clinical Coordinator to join their team in Detroit, Michigan. As a key member of the surgical services department, this individual will be responsible for coordinating the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, prioritizing patient care, and evaluating patient outcomes.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one to two years of experience as a Registered Nurse with evidence of increasing leadership abilities. They will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize work, delegate tasks, and facilitate processes. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, but not required.

**Estimated Salary:** $83,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role
  • Coordinates the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, prioritizing patient care, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Serves as a clinical resource person and assists clinical managers in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development.
  • Collaborates with managers to prospective monitor the schedule to ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios on given shifts.
  • Facilitates shared decision-making among staff and unit throughput to improve Length of Stay (LOS).

This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to regular schedules, communicate effectively with staff and patients, and demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree/Diploma in Nursing or BSN preferred.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan.
  • One to two years of progressively more responsible experience as a Registered Nurse with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
