Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to patients entering our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets Patients and Families: Greet patients and families in a professional and welcoming manner, assessing their needs and ensuring they receive the highest level of customer service.
  • Verifies Patient Information: Verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assist patients in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs.
  • Schedules Appointments: Schedule appointments utilizing provider templates and scheduling guidelines, ensuring seamless communication with patients and care teams.
  • Processes Payments: Receive and process payments from patients on current and past medical services, following appropriate procedures for handling payments.
  • Supports Administrative Functions: Assist with administrative tasks, such as working reports, addressing patient concerns, and performing paperwork.
  • Coordinates with Care Teams: Collaborate with other care teams and employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Experience: Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional Manner: Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer Service Experience: One year of customer service experience, especially in a hospital or medical office.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Problem-solving ability, analytical skills, self-motivated, and able to work well in a clinic environment.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Interact with Others: Interact with others requiring the ability to communicate information.
  • Operate Computers: Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and Read: See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain Sitting or Standing: Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
