Senior Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Vocational Nurse to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Job Summary:The Senior Vocational Nurse will be responsible for initiating venous access for IV contrast administration during imaging procedures. This will include the use of implanted ports as necessary. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with other nursing procedures, medication administration, taking vital signs, collecting and processing specimens for analysis, and assisting physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate venous access for IV contrast administration during imaging procedures
- Assist with other nursing procedures, medication administration, and vital sign collection
- Collect and process specimens for analysis
- Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Provide Tech Assist support to MRI and CT, ensuring patients are prepped and prepared
- Port Access Certification (can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- IV Certification
- Experience with pediatric patients, including ability to start IVs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- ACLS Certification (can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Experienced in an Imaging environment
- Experience working in an ambulatory surgical, plastics, or dermatology setting
- Experience in a hospital environment
- Current PALS certification
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
- LVN
- BLS
