Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in backflow devices, heating, cooling, and process piping systems.
  • Remove, replace, or install plumbing fixtures, including water closets, sinks, drinking fountains, showers, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain and repair piping on tanks, pressure vessels, and water, air, and draining systems.
  • Construct pipe joints for high or low-pressure systems using threading, brazing, soldering, or lead-wiping.
  • Cut, fit, fabricate, and assemble various articles, materials, and devices, including steel, copper, brass, glass, plastic, and cast iron.
  • Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches to construct piping assemblies.
  • Develop cost estimates for installation and repairs as directed.
  • Keep supervisors informed of project status and needed materials and equipment.
  • Safely operate machinery, vehicles, and equipment to transport tools and personnel.
  • Instruct semi-skilled workers as directed.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations, including MSDS instructions and PPE use.
  • Participate in meetings and training as scheduled.
Requirements:
  • Full journey status as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a commercial environment.
  • Washington State Department of Health Backflow Assembly Tester Certification or obtain certification within 120 days of employment.
  • Washington State Department of Labor & Industries Journey-level Plumber Certification preferred.
  • Pipe Welding Certification and/or demonstrated experience welding pipes preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Washington State Driver's License or a license recognized as valid by the State of Washington required.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and practical experience with WISHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient in basic computer functions, including Microsoft Office software and internal work order systems.
  • Knowledge of large multi-purpose sports facility or large public building operations preferred.
  • Competent in required job skills and knowledge, completing work assignments thoroughly and accurately.

Physical Activities and Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, and work at heights above 30 feet with proper PPE.
  • Will perform tasks requiring bending, stopping, kneeling, and walking significant distances.
  • Will be required to access confined spaces and heights using approved safety precautions.

The Mariners offer a competitive total rewards package for our valued Team Members. The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $35-$42.00 per hour.
