Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumber/Steamfitter to join our team at Amentum. As an Industrial Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial or commercial related to general facilities and utilities systems equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to work orders associated with building equipment and inspect major equipment and/or operating systems to take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Operate welding and metal working machinery necessary to the repair and maintenance of all pipelines, pumping stations, and water treatment equipment.
  • Ensure all appropriate mechanical operations, standards, controls, and specifications are maintained at a high level of quality.
  • Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial facility mechanical systems, facility equipment, and systems, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections and actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
Requirements
  • 5 years' experience in the field of plumbing.
  • Must have hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical building systems (plumbing, steam, and hot water boilers, air handling units, pumps, compressors, air dryers, and exhaust systems).
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of progressive career experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or research & development facility maintenance.
  • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical, or pharmaceutical campuses.
  • Experience working with heavy industrial or manufacturing plant steam systems, centrifugal chillers, air handling units, turbines, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, air dryers, heat exchangers, exhaust systems, pneumatic controls, and building automation control systems.
