Job Title: Geotechnical Staff Professional

Join our team at Universal Engineering Sciences as a Geotechnical Staff Professional, where you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional engineering services for prominent projects across the nation.

About the Role:

As a Geotechnical Staff Professional, you will work under the guidance of mid-to-senior level geotechnical engineers, performing both field and technical assignments. Your tasks will include analysis of work according to standard geotechnical procedures, data collection and review, and report writing. You will also assist with writing reports on routine projects, with senior review by Geotechnical Project Managers, PE's, and other senior professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field and technical assignments under the guidance of mid-to-senior level geotechnical engineers.
  • Analyze work according to standard geotechnical procedures.
  • Collect and review data for accuracy.
  • Assist with writing reports on routine projects.
  • Develop, manage, and perform field work for geotechnical and geological studies.
  • Manage drilling and sampling activities, including logging boring holes.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures.
  • Assign and track progress of lab testing.
  • Input field and lab data into computer programs.
  • Perform critical review of laboratory test results.
  • Analyze geotechnical findings and prepare draft reports.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering/Geology or related field.
  • E.I.T./G.I.T. registration or ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with the principles of soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based operating systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access), CAD, and ability to learn other engineering-related programs.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Field work on outside construction sites involving long-term standing, sitting, and repetitive motions.
