Job Description

The State University of New York at Oswego is seeking a highly skilled Data Manager for Assessment to join our team. As a key member of our School of Education, you will be responsible for managing our electronic data management system, collecting and storing evidence and assessments across our programs, and facilitating the implementation of program assessment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the electronic data management system, ensuring accurate and timely data collection and storage.
  • Oversee the input and maintenance of data, including clinical placement information and student course schedules.
  • Manage user access within the data management system, communicating with stakeholders as needed.
  • Facilitate the implementation of program assessment plans, distributing and collecting key assessments within the data management system.
  • Manage the dissemination of assessment data, supporting evidence for accreditation, specialized professional standards, and institutional priorities.
  • Support users in utilizing the data management system, troubleshooting user interface concerns, and developing guidance materials.
  • Support statistical analyses to review and summarize assessment results, ensuring fairness, reliability, and validity of assessments.
  • Support annual and periodic reporting of data analyses and action planning as a result of assessments.
  • Support the development of self-studies and institutional reports.
  • Support the School of Education in collecting data from across the university and unit to meet external reporting and accountability requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university by time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated ability in data collection and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use databases and software associated with data collection and analysis.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team while also independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant and successful experience with academic program evaluation, assessment, and accreditation in a higher education setting.
  • Experience with assessment related to specific program assessment standards and processes for accreditation.
  • Knowledge of best practices in data privacy and information security.
  • Experience managing data visualization tools.
