Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach college-level courses in the area of Law.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified individual to deliver learning-centered instruction and create a positive learning environment for our technical, transfer degree, and non-degree seeking students in the Business Division.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement course materials and lessons that meet learning outcomes and promote student engagement.
  • Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines to students.
  • Design and administer assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting.
  • Challenge and engage students to encourage their participation and learning.
  • Complete electronic grade books, final grade submission, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on a timely basis.
  • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
  • Maintain an electronic record of each student's progress in the college's learning management system.
  • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule.
  • Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives.
  • Complete end-of-term responsibilities, including submission of final grades, copies of exams, attendance records, and other designated materials.
  • Consult with academic area chairs and other College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law, Paralegal studies, or related field from an accredited program.
  • At least three years of industry or business experience in the teaching subject area.
  • Strong computer skills (end-user applications).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to act effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to interact successfully with academic, business, and regulatory personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's in Law or Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Previous teaching experience in an academic environment.
  • Experience working as a paralegal or with paralegals.
  • Experience with online teaching and/or instruction in higher education.
  • Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences.
