We are seeking a dedicated professional to originate residential mortgage loans that are eligible for sale in the secondary market. This role involves actively promoting our services to bank clientele and the broader community, including business referral partners. The ideal candidate will engage in business development initiatives aimed at enhancing referral partnerships and increasing loan production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the Core Values of Security State Bank & Trust.
  • Reach out to potential referral sources to solicit mortgage loans, adhering to company standards and production targets.
  • Participate in community events approved by the bank.
  • Deliver informative presentations to referral partners and community members regarding mortgage financing options.
  • Assist potential borrowers in accurately completing loan applications.
  • Prequalify applicants for home loans based on their credit, income, and assets.
  • Collect necessary documentation from prospective borrowers.
  • Present a range of mortgage product options that align with the applicant's qualifications.
  • Provide all required loan disclosures for the selected product and any subsequent disclosures due to changes prior to closing.
  • Request interest rate locks from the Lock Desk through the Point of Sale/Loan Origination System.
  • Gather funds for any required services, such as appraisals.
  • Coordinate with realtors and borrowers, addressing any inquiries regarding loan status updates.
  • Maintain open communication with applicants and internal team members.
  • Monitor the various stages of the loan process to ensure timely closure and funding.
  • Stay informed about mortgage products, guidelines, and industry developments to serve as a knowledgeable resource for clients and referral partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in outside sales and mortgage lending.
  • Familiarity with current laws and regulations pertaining to mortgage lending.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficient in using personal computers, including internet browsers, MS Word, Excel, and loan origination software (preferably Encompass).
  • Capability to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel within the bank's service area as required.
