As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering. You will work on a game product team building foundational engine technology that will fulfill our players' imaginative dreams. Responsibilities include leading and contributing to technical design and implementation of foundational systems, collaborating with product and discipline leads, setting technical direction and standards for the team, mentoring other engineers, and ensuring a safe interactive environment for players and other Rioters. Required qualifications include 6+ years of game development experience, 2+ years experience as team Technical Lead, or as subject matter expert in a specific engineering domain across multiple teams, experience developing and shipping games, BS in Computer Science, or proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, strong OO programming experience, excellent debugging skills, and experience collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines. Desired qualifications include experience using Unreal Engine, leading game engineering teams, experience with art pipelines, and experience with the prototyping phase of game development. For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.

We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role. Our Perks include work/life balance, open paid time off policy, flexible work schedules, medical, dental, and life insurance, parental leave, 401k with company match, and short and long-term disability. We foster a player and workplace experience that values teamwork embodied by the Summoner's Code and Community Code. Our culture embraces differences as a strength, and our values are the guiding principles for how we approach work. We are committed to putting diversity and inclusion (D&I) at the center of everything we do, and promoting a fair and collaborative culture where Rioters treat one another with dignity and respect.
