Job Summary

Cascadia Health is seeking a qualified Mental Health Aide I or II to join our team at Rockwood Respite, a crisis respite program in Gresham. This is a per diem position, and we are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing support and care to individuals with mental health needs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with stakeholders to complete referrals for incoming clients and facilitate the intake process.
  • Provide individual and group skills training, supervision, and support in areas such as self-care, hygiene, community resources, and other life skills as directed by the plan of care.
  • Participate in regular supervision and act as the Primary Treatment Coordinator. Attend clinical case conferences and staff meetings to gain knowledge and communicate program and resident needs.
  • Assist in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols and procedures, and coordinating with the treatment team to support a trauma-informed environment for residents and staff.
  • Perform other household chores as needed, including meal setup, preparation, serving, and clean up, as well as light housekeeping and cleaning of biohazards.
  • Accompany residents to and assist during medical appointments in the community.
  • Document and maintain clinical records in a manner that assures compliance with all agency policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation associated with assessment, treatment, resident progress, and other activities as required.
  • Demonstrate responsibility for the safety of residents and property, and have an understanding of fire regulations and evacuation procedures.
  • Adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA requirements, and comply with and implement regulations, policies, and procedures under which the facility is licensed and operates.
Requirements
  • Level I requires no experience.
  • Level II must meet the requirement to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) through MHACBO.
  • Certification must be current and in compliance with the OARs.
  • Having experience working in a residential facility providing direct support is helpful.
  • Experience working with those living with a severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) is desired.
  • Ability to operate computer hardware and software and ability to learn and use electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to pass a DMV check and driving is preferred.
