Job Summary

SRI International is seeking a highly skilled Research Physicist to join our team in Princeton, NJ. As a key member of our quantum sensing program, you will be responsible for developing and applying neutral-atom quantum sensors for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement custom optical assemblies for compact sensor designs
  • Perform detailed electromagnetic simulation and analysis
  • Support sensor system design and integration (mechanical, firmware, software)
  • Conduct field testing and measurement, with potential travel required
  • Interface with leading academic partners
Requirements
  • PhD in Applied Physics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • U.S. Citizenship required, with ability to transfer/obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience in optically pumped magnetometry or Rydberg-atom systems
  • Advanced optical systems and/or coherent optical systems
  • Strong numerical and analytical modeling skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, COMSOL)
  • Solid intuition with electromagnetics; signal processing expertise is a benefit
