About the Role

Gemini, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a 1st shift position. This role offers a competitive starting pay of $24.36 per hour, with benefits starting in less than 30 days.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will work under limited supervision, performing a variety of tasks including welding, fabricating, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. This role may also involve providing work direction to other maintenance and custodial personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Skills: Reads and understands blueprints and wiring diagrams used in diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Construction and Fabrication: Performs construction, fabrication, welding, and remodeling projects, including building walls, shelving, storage bins, or similar fixtures, hanging ceilings, pouring concrete, duct work, and other related jobs.
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Evaluates site requirements and recommends new or modified equipment. Installs technical equipment as required, making appropriate electrical, air, and water connections and aligning equipment for production use.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical and electrical failures of CNC and PLC controlled production and facilities equipment. Repairs all equipment and may modify such equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as required and directed.
  • Electrical and Lighting: Installs or replaces lighting fixtures, repairing electrical wiring when required.
  • Parts Procurement: Initiates parts requisitions, obtaining quotations from approved vendors for plant equipment.
  • Equipment Inspections: Conducts periodic inspections of production equipment as required.
  • Record Keeping: Maintains a record of replacement parts and equipment to facilitate emergency repairs.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Ensures the appearance of the buildings and grounds exceeds the expectations of the plant managers and visitors.
  • Safety Procedures: Follows standard safety procedures, and uses all approved safety devices and equipment, as required. Notifies appropriate plant manager of any safety issues.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Checks the condition of company vehicles, repairs or delivers vehicles to a commercial garage for required work.
  • Snow Removal: Operates snow removal equipment as required, spreading sand in parking lot and on sidewalks as necessary.
  • Communication: Maintains a positive working relationship with all department employees and superiors. Leads and initiates respectful communication to ensure all involved parties are aware of progress on issues and efforts.
  • Project Management: Leads projects requiring multiple resources and strong communication.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 2+ years of electrical experience in an industrial setting, 2+ years of welding/fabrication experience, 2+ years of industrial troubleshooting, including hydraulic and mechanical breakdowns.
  • Skills: Ability to wear a respirator, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis, plumbing experience, HVAC experience.
