Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the delivery of personalized mental health and substance abuse treatment.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments, evaluations, and counseling for youth and their families under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatment progress, including weekly notes, treatment plans, and aftercare strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive discharge and aftercare plans for youth.
  • Evaluate family dynamics and create tailored intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on performance improvement initiatives and compliance with organizational policies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage in daily activities and routines with youth and counselors.
  • Exemplify high standards of behavior as a role model for youth.
  • Participate in required training and development sessions.
  • Report any incidents that may indicate inappropriate relationships among youth or staff.
  • Document any use of physical intervention and unusual occurrences as per guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, special education, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years working with children facing serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse issues is preferred. Experience in group work techniques is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of group dynamics, leadership, and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Physical Requirements: Candidates must be in good physical health, able to engage in youth activities, and transport youth or staff as needed. Must pass health evaluations as required by state law.
  • Other Requirements: A valid state driver's license and compliance with state criminal background checks are mandatory. Flexibility to work irregular hours may be required.
