Job Title: Academic Tutor

Join our team as an Academic Tutor and contribute to the academic success of student-athletes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

About the Role:

The Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes (ASPSA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Tutor to provide academic support to student-athletes in various subject areas. As an Academic Tutor, you will work closely with student-athletes to help them achieve academic success and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to student-athletes in various subject areas.
  • Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to meet the needs of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with academic counselors and learning specialists to ensure student-athletes receive comprehensive academic support.
  • Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and provide regular feedback to coaches and academic counselors.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of academic support plans for student-athletes.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge base in a discipline of interest with the ability to articulate material in ways that creates an optimal learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to students in both individual and group situations.
