About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer II to join our Avionics team at RTX. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, and maintain flight-critical embedded software for military and commercial aviation solutions and avionics products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative computing platform software solutions across multiple platforms.
  • Utilize embedded operating systems, C code, networking protocols, device drivers, hardware interface tools, simulations, and integrated development environments to support product health monitoring.
  • Specify requirements, implement software, develop test procedures, perform verification, and complete artifacts for certification.
  • Perform hardware and low-level software integration, resolving issues around timing, device configuration, power-on sequences, data synchronization, and more.
  • Coordinate with other project team members to ensure smooth operations and compliance with program and product requirements.
  • Effectively communicate technical progress, risks, opportunities, and necessary design alterations to software leads.

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 3 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:

Embedded C and Platform Level Software Experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with Avionics regulatory and certification requirements and processes is preferred.

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and an understanding of their application in safety-critical avionics systems.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
