In your role, you will:

  • Review installation drawings, qualification test data, and reports.
  • Support change management through research, concepts, design reviews, trade studies, impact analysis, and implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with 14CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA aircraft requirements.
  • Research specifications for component selections and collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to assist with production and/or flight test personnel, investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving build and test issues.
  • Coordinate extensively with suppliers and internal support groups.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Create system schematics, requirements documents, system descriptions, interface documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, issue papers, functional test requirements, test plans, test reports, and design compliance reports for new and/or upgraded aircraft systems.

As our ideal candidate:

  • You hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in electrical/avionics system design or a related field is preferred.
  • You possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical/avionics system design or a related field.
  • A working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Cybersecurity and System Safety aspects of certification is a plus.
  • You are proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Engineering Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma Process training is beneficial.
  • A working knowledge of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft is preferred.
  • You are a self-starter, capable of breaking down moderately complex projects into individual tasks and processes.
  • You exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You are organized and can work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments, and organizations while maintaining a positive attitude.
