Position Overview
The Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner role involves delivering comprehensive care to a diverse group of trauma patients. This position emphasizes the application of clinical knowledge, experience, and critical thinking to assess situations, prioritize care, and evaluate complex clinical scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to a varied trauma patient demographic.
- Utilize clinical judgment to set priorities and address patient needs effectively.
- Engage in educational initiatives for both patients and healthcare staff.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and take responsibility for clinical practices as per the Nurse Practice Act.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Trauma or Surgery Nurse Practitioner.
- Master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current certifications in AHA CPR/BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
- Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP).
- Possession of a valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license without restrictions.
- Furnishing license and DEA certification to be acquired within three months of hire.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong judgment skills to effectively meet patient needs.
- Ability to work independently with self-direction and organizational skills.
- References that reflect a strong performance in previous roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent clinical experience in a specialty care setting is highly desirable.
Department Overview
This department aims to provide advanced clinical expertise to patients and their families consistently. Responsibilities include managing chronic stable medical conditions, delivering routine and acute care, and following medical protocols as defined by standardized procedures. Nurse Practitioners in this role are expected to make independent patient management decisions and collaborate with attending physicians or team members when necessary.

- Salary Range: Competitive hourly rate.
