The Financial Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in executing financial tasks to ensure precise and timely reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. This position aids in the formulation of technical solutions to intricate business challenges by developing spreadsheets that serve as tools for junior staff. Responsibilities include maintaining performance management reports and supporting accurate balance sheet and profit & loss reporting. This role is more focused on experienced, tactical, and transactional activities.

Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting tactical data analysis and assisting analysts with moderately complex data evaluations.
  • Communicating exception items with relevant departments to maintain data accuracy.
  • Providing tactical recommendations based on data analysis, business context, and moderate system knowledge.
  • Responding to escalated customer inquiries effectively.
  • Engaging with management in operations, sales compensation, and sales as necessary.
  • Collaborating with processors on enrollment and billing matters.
  • Acting as a liaison with banking institutions regarding premium collection statuses.
  • Coordinating activities and offering training for junior associates.
  • Assisting with system testing for IT projects and implementing software releases within the Finance department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires an AA/AS degree in accounting or finance along with experience in relational databases and reporting tools; or a combination of education and experience that provides a comparable background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree is preferred. Experience in finance or health insurance sectors is advantageous.
