Position Overview

This role is dedicated to delivering security oversight services to our clients by executing fundamental event assessments, managing common issue types, and engaging in basic incident response tasks.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Conduct real-time surveillance for potential security threats and system health notifications.
  • Keep precise documentation of security incidents within the case management system, overseeing incidents from initiation to resolution.
  • Address security alerts, client inquiries, and service-related requests.
  • Analyze incoming alerts and collaborate with senior analysts for coordinated responses.
  • Adhere to established SOC protocols, including case management and alert handling procedures, to effectively triage potential security threats.
  • Continuously enhance service quality by identifying and rectifying knowledge gaps and documentation issues.
  • Compile reports from various tools for client distribution.
  • Manage a limited number of internal assets, including troubleshooting, software installations, and updates.
  • Assist in onboarding clients into our Managed Security Services, such as SOC services, Vulnerability Scanning, and MDR Services.
  • Oversee and maintain security tools for both internal and client use.
  • Engage in technical problem-solving across diverse technologies.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pursue ongoing improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in operational processes.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in daily tasks.
  • Undertake special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned by management, including supporting ad-hoc data requests and investigations.
  • Report any irregularities or issues to management for resolution.
  • Uphold high ethical standards in the workplace.
  • Foster effective communication with management, office personnel, and external contacts.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide technical assistance in pre-sales and post-sales activities, including client meetings.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a SOC analyst, focusing on event triage and incident management.
  • Five or more years of experience in the IT sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Security & Risk Management).
  • Prior experience in the design, documentation, provisioning, and installation of network security devices (e.g., Firewall, IDS/IPS, WAF) and servers (Linux/Windows).
  • Basic understanding of networking and internet protocols (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing, HTTP, DNS, SMTP) with a strong interest in IT security.
  • Self-driven with solid troubleshooting skills in IT issues.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with exceptional communication abilities.

Tools & Equipment

  • Utilization of software including Windows operating systems and MS Office.
  • General office equipment such as phones, fax machines, copiers, personal computers, printers, and scanners.

Certifications

  • Preferred certifications include MCSE, MCP, CCNA, Security +.
  • Strongly preferred certifications include CISSP, GIAC, CISA.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work Environment

This position is performed in an office setting. Travel may be necessary. Flexibility to work any shift pattern within a 24/7/365 operation, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, is required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
