This role involves creating cutting-edge query optimizations, executing techniques for unparalleled performance, and building a database system that is efficient, high-performing, and scalable.
We are in search of an exceptional Lead Software Engineer to enhance our team.
AS A LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
- Design, develop, and maintain a highly distributed and efficient database system with a focus on Query Performance
- Engage in technical, design, and product discussions within your team
- Convert product specifications into actionable engineering tasks for your team
- Utilize your strong leadership skills to successfully deliver complex projects while maintaining high-quality standards
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong engineering fundamentals with an emphasis on query processing
- A proven history of leading significant projects with team collaboration
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and SQL optimization techniques
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Query Optimization; including heuristic-based query rewrites, cost-based optimizations, cardinality estimations, and plan stability
- Experience in designing and implementing cloud-scale distributed database systems
