Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at WinnCompanies. As a key member of our military housing team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and cleaning functions in our communities, including rental units, office buildings, and grounds.

Responsibilities
  • Deliveries and Logistics: Safely transport tools, equipment, and parts throughout the property, and assist with event setup and teardown.
  • Maintenance and Rehabilitation: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations to property units, including cleaning, painting, and decorating, as well as lawn maintenance and debris removal.
  • Appliance Installation and Repair: Install, connect, and repair stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other electrical and gas appliances.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload trucks, move supplies and materials, and stack materials for storage or binning.
  • Equipment Transport: Transport equipment, furnishings, and appliances to job sites.
  • Screen Repair and Fabrication: Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations, level grounds, shovel concrete, clean culverts and ditches, cut trees and brush, and operate power tools and lawn mowers.
  • Flooring and Drywall Removal: Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile, and plywood, as well as damaged drywall.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure work-site cleanliness, operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks, and driveways, and respond to service calls to complete COM work and other property maintenance requirements.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform on-call emergency repairs and complete repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, update work order status, and maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory as prescribed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Driver's License: A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Entry-level knowledge of basic maintenance, solid customer service skills, basic familiarity with computers, web-based applications, and mobile devices, and ability to read and write in English.
  • Planning and Organization: Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
