Job Summary

Coeur Mining, a leading precious metals producer, is seeking a skilled Mobile Maintenance Technician to join its team at the Kensington underground gold mine in Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair surface and underground mobile mining equipment, including drills, bolters, loaders, haul trucks, and heavy and light-duty support equipment.
  • Perform intermediate welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gas engine issues.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of mobile mining equipment.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of work areas and equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanical Maintenance from a vocational tech school or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work safely and promote safe behavior in others.
  • Must have own hand tools.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently exposed to underground work environments, outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives and vibration.
  • Noise level in most work environments is usually very loud.
  • May require work on nights, weekends, and rotating shifts; shift schedules require residency in camp during work rotations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Alaskan residents are preferred.
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
